	In Response To: Bungies answer (Dunks) : visit : http://www.bungie.net/perlbin/blam.pl?file=/site/1/news/stories/the_marathon_connection.html : this is Bungies official explenation. Personally, I think all the Marathon : references were for fun and much of the game has been inspired (the body : armor looks a little like a marine) and from what this page shows, there : are a few marathon logos in HALO. However, there are slightly more : references, but they are cute touches such as when the little grunts run : away screaming 'they're everywhere!' But i seriously think people are : looking into this a little too deeply, sorta like comparing the Buffy : movie to the series, some similarities but totally different, one inspired : by the other. I didn't realize the S'pht'Kr and the SPNKR (or SPNKr, as that old article points out) are named almost the same way. Perhaps that's the way of Bungie saying the defenders are the bad boys of the S'pht clans?
