lol - you'd be surprised what I've already got under my belt. :) Hugo I never liked very much. I went through a Poe phase in high school - read pretty much everything published widely. I go back and read some of it again, periodically... I like him a lot. ;) Dostoyevsky I read quite a bit of... in Russian. (Then again in English - because my Russian wasn't great.) Another good writer. Faulkner I never liked... except for some of his weirder pieces. (Ever read 'A Rose for Emily?' :) ) Kosinski wrote some amazing stuff. Being There was a great book, and an equally great (for different reasons) movie. Mostly, though, he became a bit too engrossed in himself for me to be interested. :( There are TONS of good authors out there. Just because King is on my list doesn't mean more 'classic' writers aren't. I'll continue to disagree that he repeats himself as you suggest. |
