: asteroid is closest to the sun it is at the same distance as mercury.

: Earth-crossing orbit."
: it's name "1566 Icarus" simply means: "the 1566th largest
: asteroid, Icarus" (so it's rather small, 1.6 km across)

Thanx for the clarification, it appears that this asteroid wouldn’t make an ideal place for a colony. Apparently the “Icarus” asteroid colony isn’t necessarily on the “Icarus” asteroid. Bah, things are never simple in the Marathon universe. =P
