In Response To: War between Icarus and Thermopylae. (Friend of a Friend) : It has a lot of information but it uses a lot astronomical terms that I'm not
: If anyone finds this information, let me know. : I don't think there is a named asteroid called "Thermopylae" No, but there is a character called Angus Thermopylae in the Gap books by Stephen Donaldson. Angus Thermopyle has been cybernetically augmented to become an unstoppable military cyborg. This does, however, take place against his will. If the user mentions special keywords (first, Joshua - and Jacob for major priority orders and later Isaac and Gabriel) Angus *has* to do what he is asked. Interestingly enough, the gap books also feature kidnapped dignitaries which have their intestines lined with explosives and are hypnotically programmed to cause major damage by blowing up when they get back home. (as a side note, this probably explains why the simBobs in M1 exclaim 'thank god it's you!' - they were normal humans at one point, then Bungie shifted the mythos for M2/MI) -z. |
