It's true Westlake only port games, but that doesn't mean they can't start developing games of their own. At least on the technical side of game development, these guys are no rookies. I bet Glenda Adams have contemplated this possibility at least one and who knows, maybe making a Marathon game as their first in-game title won't sound that crazy to her. Same thing with Ambrosia: just because they haven't released a 3D title to date, that doesn't mean they can't do it or would suck at it. If we keep that kind of attitude, then it's sure there'll never another Marathon game.
A company that was left out due to space limitations was Pangea Software. You can laugh all you want, but I belive these guys would do a geat job developing a Marathon game. Let's not forget Bungie distributed one of their titles, Weekend Warrior, which is now freeware and still enjoyable.
