I’ve been a Mac user for 15 years, but I’ll be the first to admit that Windows XP is pretty damn good. My mother-in-law loves it (my step father-in-law uses PC-only software in his business). But I still hate Windows for many of the reasons I hate AOL - it’s just too meddlesome. 'Did you know that your computer comes with a free 6 month trial of MSN? Would you like to set that up now? . . . You selected NO. Are you sure you wouldn't like to set up your MSN account now? . . . You still selected NO! But you obviously meant YES - you’re just confused. Let me go ahead and trash your existing ISP preferences and set up MSN for you now . . .' Sounds a bit like a rampant AI ;-) Oh, and BTW, Mac OS X almost never, ever crashes. I can go weeks without a restart, and then it’s often because of a software upgrade.
