Actually, I think that Thoth used a Jjaro symbol, rather than the other way around, and I think it very likely that Thoth was a Jjaro AI, or at least modeled on a Jjaro AI. Although Durandal talks of Thoth as a S'pht AI, I think that this was just a reference to him being on Lh'owon. In the end, we find his elements scatterred all over the planet, and deep within the planet in an area that hadn't been entered in centuries. The S'pht terraformed Lh'owon for the Jjaro, and I think that this included the creation and installation of Thoth.
