| In Response To: Rubicon Volunteers - We Dream You (Steve Levinson)
Here are the pertinent terminal picts for We Dream You:
|
The Jjaro login symbol makes it’s return. It’s a bit blurry, but this is, after all, a dream. Note again that it’s square, rather than the rounded emblem we saw on the doors of the Jjaro station in Infinity, and in the login pict from the combined Durandal-Thoth entity. |

De ja vu all over again. Somehow, this seems strangely familiar . . . |

OK – this diagram I understand. This could be taken right out of a textbook on antenna theory or astrophysics, or generated using Mathematica or a similar program. What in the world does it have to do with that story about a knife? |

Interesting. This pict appears on the terminal where we first learn about Kate. There is a definite symbolism, here. I wonder if the Rubicon Team had intended some sort of tie-in with the original Marathon level, The Rose. In any case, we have an overlay of 3 different elements. In the background is a sepia close-up image of a rose. |
On top of this is a series of partial differential equations. We only see snippets here, and it is very hard to read them as they’re very faint, but I’m curious none-the-less if anyone recognizes where these equations come from. Finally, there is a diagram or a series of diagrams which shows matter collapsing into a singularity and matter exploding from a singularity. Could this be symbolic of the closure of the universe, and what may follow? In any case, the symbolism seems clear – Kate is a complex person. The rose represents the beautiful aspect of her that attracted the marine’s alter ego in his dreams. The equations and diagram represent her role as a scientist. And keep in mind, a rose has thorns . . .
