: I mean, what would have been Marathon without that music?

I actually played through Marathon the first few times without music, since Quicktime 2 didn't like my LC III. It's a completely different experience sneaking through the ABSOLUTELY SILENT ship and waiting for the aliens to jump out. Almost as good as Pathways Into Darkness...

: And now the big question: Why did M2 and Moo came WITHOUT background music?!?
: Why did they just feature the f***ing ambient sounds? I mean, they were
: cool, ok, but that was completely another game.

I didn't mind the change at all... And if you're complaining about missing atmosphere, go play Kill Your Television or Son of Grendel (mmm, night wind) or Acme Station or My Own Private Thermopylae again.

: It took years, I know, but finally I want hereby to OFFICIALLY COMPLAIN WITH
: BUNGIE BECAUSE OF THE MISSING BKG MUSIC IN M2 AND MOO!!!!

Don't you think it's a bit late for them to do anything about it? :P

: PS: Isn't there a way to patch bkg music on M2 and Moo, as done for M1A1?
: Would somebody write new tracks and use them for M2 and Moo?

Yes, by using it as an ambient sound, and several scenarios have done so (EMR/MI, Pfh'jouer). But since you can't use MIDI any more it's not feasible to insert really long music tracks.
