: Something of a constipated map distinctly lacking in spaciousness; it feels
: somewhat awkward playing it on a 23" monitor. A very M1-style map
: where tricks an obstacles make for a level that's not believable from a
: practical sense. I mean, how bad does your installation have to be that
: it's made *better* and more traversable by virtue of being flooded with
: lava? That said, it's a short but fun nostalgic jaunt. Great finding those
: secrets, I never had any idea although with transparent liquids in A1 that
: ledge in the second room is actually pretty obvious (in hindsight)!
Totally agreed, this entire scenario feels very much based on M1 design, illogical design elements and all, which makes sense given that it was originally a scenario for M1 and then was later "ported" to M2.
And yes, the transparent liquid is invaluable when trying to find that ledge – I first learned it existed because of Weland, but it's far more visible in-game than it would've been 21 years ago, all because the real liquid is see-through.
