Unfortunately it doesn't behave exactly like EV:O. The armor recharges in EV:O, but it doesn't in EV:N. So in EV:O you could buy an Azdara, then (very carefully) venture all the way to Voinian space, equip some armor plating, and the resulting fighter was almost indestructible. Don't try it in EV:N :)
