: Yeah, I just looked at that section too, but I don't see much about the
: terminal text itself, unless I'm overlooking it somehow. I thought there
: was more somewhere.
: I haven't reread that stuff recently, but I've thought of it for a while now
: as being a metaphor or direct description of something associated with the
: player's past. If I remember correctly, I think Rubicon follows that
: thread and expands upon the dream level story, so that may be where I'm
: getting that idea.
: I don't know if there was also speculation that the story was about Durandal.
: I sometimes wondered if the knife mentioned in it was supposed to
: represent Durandal.
: It seems to me that it could be read as a series of events from the player's
: life, possibly before he was grafted with Jjaro technology. His implied
: life as a clandestine killing machine merged with alien technology seems
: to jive with the fact that men in black suits are following him around.
: Though I could only conjecture as to why, perhaps to observe or capture
: (recapture?) him.
: And if the levels these terminals appear in are the dreams of our main
: character, then it would make a lot of sense that the terminals would
: contain his memories, though they could be distorted in all sorts of ways.
this is interesting. i have consider that it is possible to be some sort of memories from the cyborg's past. i'm especially curious as to what durability is referring to.
has anyone from bungie ever spoke about this subject?
