OK. You have a completely valid point. And another. And another.

Why I'm thinking about Marathon retreads is because I'm a humble guy.

I wanted to make a version of Marathon that would be accessible to the new kids on the block.

I didn't want to make M4 because doing that is like saying "I know where Bungie would have gone with Marathon." I'm much more comfortable with saying "If Bungie re-polished Marathon it might look like this."

Does that make me a wimp?

Also limitations. I just don't think I could write enough good fiction to fill the M4 story. On the other hand, old Mara has plenty of that PLUS little tantalizing bits of info in obscure terms that scream at me when I sleep.

So maybe I am an egotist after all because I want to expand the Gherrit White story. That term still haunts me.

Your points are good and it's food for thought.

I also hate combos and other excessive timed-keypress dances. Keep it simple, stupid is my philosophy when it comes to UIs.
