1) We still have to find Gaius Licinius Marc____. Unless it is "Gaius Licinius marched" with a capitalization mistake. If so, then there are a million of 'em.
2) There is no #2.
3) Yes, we could do more work on Clovis.
4) Here's my almost non-sequiter (damn dictionary) idea:
It's just like Myth.
The Eternal Hero isn't one immortal, but a series of powerful men and women whom posses a "divine spark" that makes them pivotal historical figures (and very hard to kill, apparently). They aren't always good, either. Also, they can overlap (like Alric's rise overlapped Balor's decline).
Sergeant Eddings was a good guy, mostly.
"Beenhard" Strauss was a bad guy.
"You" are a good guy.
Maybe Clovis, GLM, Charley Mann, Orlando perhaps were part of that line too?
(I bet this is already somewhere on your site.)
