The search for the authentic Marathon Music sound.

Marathon Music does sound different under QT 2.0 compared to QT 2.5. Using headphones, the sound is lusher and deeper, less of a tiny sound. Frankly, the QT 2.5 is inferior. Frost was spot on.

I have search numerous old shareware and freeware Mac software archives for a MIDI to AIFF convertor that will work with QT 2.0 installed. No luck.

MoviePlayer 2.5 which comes with QT 2.5 will convert MIDI to AIFF but only with QT 2.5 installed. It does not work under QT 2.0.

MoviePlayer 2.0 or 2.1 is not able to do the conversion. Probably not coded.

QuickTime Musical Instruments 2.0 will not work correctly under QT 2.5. No way of fooling QuickTime I'm afraid.

Thus the search for a MIDI to AIFF convertor continues.

The Marathon Music under QT 2.0 deserves to be heard.
