I'll see if I can get my hands on the books. I'm intrigued by the concept of the inability to distinguish magic from technology, as it opens up the Pandora's box of opportunities for Sc-Fi.
Let's suppose that the IP's universe/theme is deriving from Zelazny's works (after reading up on them, I find it quite possible). I'm still left with Cortana, Durandal, and Joyeuse... Although I'm biased to be looking for such things. I'd have to read the books to find out, but I'm intrigued as to what inspired Zelazny (other than Egyptian mythology). Perhaps it's Charlemagne's history?
Again, I'll have to find those books.
