I find this quite exciting! The vocabulary and names are quite similar, and it takes place in space (for what that's worth). Thoth and Osiris are the two names that have particularly caught my interest, although I find it interesting that many of the names in the story involve gods that involve the dead or afterlife.
Okay, not THAT many. Only two:
Osiris- Underworld
Anubis- Mummification and Afterlife
While we have:
Thoth- Knowledge, intelligence, the heart (thought to be the seat of the mind's intelligence)
Set- Desert, storms, and foreigners
I wouldn't be surprised if Creatures of Light and Darkness becomes what Ender's Game was for Halo. Although, I really shouldn't jump to conclusions like that right now.
I'll be back tomorrow to research and discuss some more.
