In Response To: Re: Eternally Perplexing Questions (rampancy) : Okay, so they're energy beings - I can buy that. But what about the line
They're not really "energy beings" in the Star Trek sense. They are exactly what the Jjaro once were - physical beings (most of them now cybernetic beings, having transcended their biological forms, if they ever had such to begin with) who have access to the Outside via something like a CJ, and from that they draw immense powers over the very fabric of reality. Most Jjaro shed their physical form entirely to live as pure minds Outside, but the W'rk are obsessed with controlling their own physical universes and so retain their physical form. Think Anubis from SG-1; "half-ascended". Except they could ascend entirely if they wanted to. : So if the Sphere didn't have a CJ, how could Hathor get there? Doesn't she
You need a CJ to time travel with, but you can travel to anywhere with it; there doesn't need to be one to receive you. She used the CJ on the Dreadnaught, right before we destroyed it, hence why she can't go back to it to escape without getting destroyed an instant afterward. : There's a 1.0.3 release? What are the changes between that and 1.0.1? Not much. End screen works, Shock Staff ammo is made more reasonable, an untextured wall is textured, and the zip archive actually works. : What I understand is that the Sphere got blown up in the timeline we
No; Ch5 through Grotto is 65mya. On Grotto you jump forward 65 million years (by being in temporal stasis for that long), then a few levels later exit the Sphere as it explodes, and go back in time a couple of decades earlier to the start of the Pfhor War, the end of Infinity (which you are en route to on Near Side). At that time, the Sphere is still sitting there frozen in time with the Jjaro, W'rk, Hathor, and you inside of it. And there is info in the terminals clearly stating each of these facts. (Well, except for mentioning that the Sphere is still out there, but that's a logical conclusion from all the other info, and it will play into Omega). : Now, if you're talking about the sphere lying dormant for 65 million years Yes exactly. Dormant, frozen in time, with you standing there, grenades still smoking, having just "killed" Hathor and activated the superweapon.
