Stuck in marathon red >_

I`m on the level "last minute shopping", and I can't seem to open the door to the second part of the level. In my confusion I flipped one of the switches twice and can't flip it back to on again.. and I saved it that way too. Is there no way to reactivate the switches after you've done this? I don't want to go back with the level select because I`ll lose my conch and my mace...
