Well, the announcement trailer was the one where the MC jumps from the spoke to the covenant cruiser. It was the same event, but in a different context. I think the implication was that he arrives to find Earth already being bombarded, instead of showing up before the attack as he does in the actual game. They also added the whole covenant bomb, which made for a much better explanation of why he would be leaping through space. The same is sort of true to the first New Mombasa footage. Both movies were events that ended up being in the final game, more or less, but tweaked to fit into the larger story. So yes, the differences are relatively minor.
I guess the point might be that it's difficult to tell how this trailer will fit into the finished product.
