: It was about 16-19 ppl. There was no signing up, it was by invite only. If
: you were someone I considered a Halo fan and had never met before (or once
: long long ago) I would've put you on the list of possible attendees.
: Unfortunately I don't equate this forum with rabid Halo players, is that a
: misperception on my part? I'm all ears.
I think that there are at least some. I can only speak for myself, but I'm a huge fan of Halo who is unfortunately a little too neurotic to really visit the HBO forum. I've tried to return a few times, but I kind of have to obsessively read every single post by everyone else, and keep track of every single post by myself. It's because I'm used to this forum and its comfortable pace. It sucks though because I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of things that are going on in the community.
LAN parties, however, is not one of them, because I have social anxiety disorder so I couldn't attend even if I was invited :´(
: The tru7h of the matter is that the Bungie fan community is quite fragmented.
: We have Marathon, Myth, and Halo as the big games folks flock around, and
: the forums for each make it easy to have distinct communities. Yet some of
: us straddle many of those games but haven't the time to participate in all
: the forums about it. Those of us that truly have enjoyed all the games (I
: count myself in those ranks) are a rare breed.
I don't think so... Unless by "enjoy" you mean enjoy in the way that I enjoy Marathon. I have played all the games several times and I have gotten a great amount of pleasure from every one of them, but I haven't and wouldn't get as involved in the Myth story as in the Marathon story...
: The era of uber-LAN parties at Mr. Wu's home is possibly over:

That saddened my heart =(
