My family had an LC II, marginally upgraded with a processor card that pushed it up to 33 MHz. We basically had to turn off every option that could be turned off, and even then the experience was more or less as Anaphiel described it above. A year later, off at university, I convinced my parents to help me get a Performa 5200, which improved the experience considerably but still couldn't handle high-resolution...
