: The one big plot hole I realize here and just kind of skirted around: K'lia
: vanished just before the Pfhor arrived. In M2/Infinity they've had a
: thousand years to advance to Pfhor-ass-kicking level. What good would have
: recalling them right after they left have done? Were the ancient S'pht'Kr,
: having been free from their brethren's warfare for the thousand years they
: lived above, before they left, really that much more advanced or powerful
: than the S'pht planetside?
I thought that K'lia left during the clan wars, a thousand years before the pfhor arrived, and that the remaining S'pht were greatly reduced by warring.
: Also of note, with Thoth's activation terminal: he, having a Cybernetic
: Junction of his own, could have just sent you back in time timself. Maybe
: he does - you only dream when travelling Outside, across time via
: Cybernetic Junction. He is fully aware that the S'pht'Kr were not meant to
: be recalled yet. "Witness now the consequences of your
: intervention", he says, before you enter the Outside for the dream of
: Mad World. So the question I have, for myself, is, Why wouldn't Thoth
: simply *not call the S'pht'Kr yet* if he knows the doom that that would
: bring?
If he had simply not called the Kr, how would we have learned what we just screwed. They say that you need to fail in order to suceed.
