It may seem linear now, but the Halo environment is wide open, giving you many chances to use different tactics for battling the Covenant. And there are many surprises ahead...
Might I add that the Halo story is very deep, just as deep as the Marathon story. There are still many questions about the Haloverse , even with the release of Halo 2. Have fun playing :)
