: So.... : I stick out my tongue and go "Nyaaa" in Doom's general direction. I have nothing against either of the games personally, but what I do hate is the majority of argument from either side. The doom side is so much of "oh come on Marathon is just such a stupid game I mean come on like this is fucking mother fucking doom" just like Blumpy said, or otherwise there's the typical form of Marathon debate which is simply consistent of whining, constant influences and then all of a sudden rooting out some game to fight doom where you star as some stupid Italian plumber getting sucked into a crappy pee-wee la-la land replicant where he rides reptile cavalry and swallows shit to bump shit if not simply banging your head on something and so on. And everyone else complains about how in Doom all you do is explore the maps, using tactics during battle, dodging, shooting, collecting stuff, opening doors if not riding platforms and eventually getting out. Not to insult Mario 3, of course. Gaming industries fight over others simply for the sake of popularity and profit and throwing all of these anonymous games/game consoles at us while excessively protective mothers accuse the video games of turning our youth into failures. Wow. If you ask me, we're talking reservoir dogs here. All this time everyone's been screwing over one another, sticking their tongues out to everyone. The truth is this: We just don't know it. :p | |
