Woah, crappy assumption

There was in fact a purpose beyond that in Doom. Sure, those were the only real objectives, but a correction I would like to give: It wasn't JUST shoot shit, get the key and find the bigger gun before constantly repeating the process. There are lots of tactics involved, just as there are in Marathon. I wasn't saying anything about either game being better. So apparently I'm some moronic troll for that?
I'm not saying Doom is better than Marathon. I play Marathon all the time, and you're right, it did have more meaning to it. But that's not to throw around potshot influences that Doom sucks cock and simply mention that the claim that Doom is better than Marathon obviously suggests to constantly whine about a bogus survey that claims results as a factually correct consensus. Do you think that we'd suddenly go Windoze if we heard about the survey between Macs and PCs?
It's just what the majority believes. It's all for the sake of influence and competition over pitiful concepts such as popularity or graphics.
