No, YOUR mom.
You got a negative reaction out of the forum not (just) because you boasted about your skills, but because of the assumptions about this forum in your first post. Think about it- this forum is focused on a game that's nearly 10 years old, and whose audience has not significantly grown for at least 5. Anyone who still reads it has probably been playing the game for many years, and has already learned all the tricks and all the tactics there ever were. The idea that anyone here needs to be taught anything about Marathon by anyone, let alone someone who comes off as pompous as your first post did, naturally set off a round of quiet sniggering.
Drop the inappropriate grizzled sensei attitude, stop addressing people as potential fans of your greatness, and things will probably go a lot better (that's not meant to be a threat, just advice).
I'm going to ask nicely that this thread end since the forum doesn't seem to want to let me lock it. Nobody should hold a grudge if you shape up and stick around, just try to use a more mature and courteous mindset next time you post.
