Just using this post to reply to the whole thread
: Hmm - I know exactly where you mean, but I didn't see anything inside those
: alcoves. I guess I'll have to go back and take a look.
In response to John, yes, they ARE the thing you killed on Pfhoraphobia. At least, the same type of thing. The monster on Pfhoraphobia clearly is a cyborg Pfhor (and I think it is even called as much), by which I mean part organic and part machine, not the "Cyborg" type of monster. (Those I usually refer to specifically as the Pfhor's HUMAN cyborg slaves, taking the backstory told in the Scrapbook that they are captured Bobs made into cyborg slaves). The thing on Pfhoraphobia controlled the S'pht contingent for the Pfhor scoutship there; these three cyborgs control the S'pht and Human cyborg slaves for the Central arm of Battle Group One. (I figure scoutships need to be more independant, a large battle group does better with more centralized command).
: I first saw one of those hunters when I was leaving the area for the last
: time. Frankly, if the hunters aren't even visible most of the time, why
: have them. I would suggest either removing the hunters or making that
: hallway accessible - that would be cool, as it would give the player added
: mobility between sections of the level.
I'll probably actually make those rings connect to somewhere else, a purposeless nearby place, stick the other six monsters in there, and have the windows solid. That little area was supposed to give a sense that there are other parts of this really big ship that you're not seeing and can't get to. Good to know about Extermination types, I always thought Extermination meant you had to kill ALL of them.
