Ideally? I'd rather have it so that the PB can be seen by the player. The player walks over and saves. They then see the ammo and weapons. They look very enticing. The player goes for the ammo and activates the Troopers at the top of the sloping stairs. That's how I'd like to see it.
The one toward the end of Package is a good idea.
