In Response To: When did you first play a Marathon game? (Krazy) OK, I guess I'll weigh in. I may not be the oldest, but I'm close at 48. At this age, my memory is fading and I can't remember exactly when I started in :P I first experienced the PiD demo on the Quadra 950 I got in 1992, but it never really turned me on. I think I got the M1 demo on a Zip drive I purchased later, but I avoided playing it for quite some time - perhaps 2 years - as I just had a feeling it might be too cool and alter my life. Eventually I did play it and by then M2 and Moo had come out. After playing the M1 demo a few hundred times, I downloaded the M2 and Moo demos and played them each a few dozen times. By then the Mac action Sac was available and I ordered it - now I could kick myself for not buying the Trilogy boxed set instead. It was not until after playing all the games through a few times, however, that I discovered the on-line community, the Story Forum and most importantly of all, the 3rd party scenarios. By the time Rubicon was released, I was able to play most everything on TC and I was really primed. The rest is history. |
