| In Response To: When did you first play a Marathon game? (Krazy) : When did you first play a Marathon game and how old were you? The very first time I think must have been when it was first released, because my friend had just gotten the demo version with some Mac magazine. At the time, we didn't really like it all that much. We killed some aliens, didn't read the terminals and generally missed the whole point. But then again, we were 10 years old and hardly understood half of the words used... However, the Marathon 2 demo we played continuously until our eyes bled and and fingers were reduced to soggy lumps of flesh. We still didn't really bother to read the terminals, because we still only understood 3/4 of the words used, but we had at least gotten old enough to be able to play FPS games properly, so we spent an entire summer at this friend's house (he was the only one who had a computer that was both a Mac and modern enough to play it on.) After saving a lot of allowances he bought the game, and then we played it even more. And then he bought Infinity and we played that even more, especially networked games...this guy's Marathon was on everyone's brand new computers =) (I have since repented; I own several legal copies of each game and my name is Durandal.) | |
