In Response To: Re: When did you first play a Marathon game? (Craig Hardgrove) Well, I first played PID. My brother ordered from a catalog. Then one day my father brougth home the MacWorld Secrets book and it came with 3 floppy disk of free stuff and demos. It included the original Marathon demo and I said ,oooh another game from the makers of Pathways! cool!. I played and finished that demo on my 16 Mhz 68030 Color Classic with 8 Mb ram. I had to play at the lowest quality settings with no backgrond sound and it was sloooow! But I loved it! A year or two later we got the Mother of all upgrades, from a Color Classic to a 180 Mhz Power PC Performa 6400 + internet. I could play full screen at the highest quality! I could download scenarios made for the M1 demo! I was hooked forever. Years later, here I am, still looking for more. :-) |
