| In Response To: When did you first play a Marathon game? (Krazy) : When did you first play a Marathon game and how old were you? I can't be sure of my age, but I guess I was around 10. My mom worked in a school library at the time and when school was over for the summer she would have to spend two weeks indexing and organizing and what have you, so basically my first two weeks of summer would be spent in the library and around the school as well. I did actually manage to have some good times there, despite the location and timing, but the best time was when a strange piece of mail came in. For some completely bizzare reason, Bungie sent out a bunch of free copies of Marathon 1 to apparently random addresses. Even more bewildering they sent this game to a school's library, where I was sitting patiently waiting for something to do. Bam, the game was mine. I don't think I ever beat it until three or four years later(this i know was my eighth grade year so about 13 years old)when I got the Trilogy Box Set. Been making maps since the year I got the set as well. Been making good maps for about one year. But I can't ever forgive myself, because I lost that original disc somewhere along the way. | |
