In Response To: When did you first play a Marathon game? (Krazy) : When did you first play a Marathon game and how old were you? 34 and nowhere to hide. Used to be on top of the world, limousines, night clubs, stock options...yeah, I had it all. Strange to think that was all of six years ago. Ever since the company went under I've been on the run, too many "unethical" practices were unearthed, too much vice had gone on for too long, and I was the perfect man to put the blame on. Whipping boy scapegoat, that's the way I felt; so I ran into the hot Brazilian night onto the streets, where I stayed, where I am now. You get to a point where the booze and cheap girls no longer do it for you and you go out lookin' for something a little heavier. I ain't going to deny it, I've been up on speed, down on junk and every drug in between. I went from wearin' Armani to washing dishes for cheap wine, and all I've got to show for it now is this tiny room in this filthy apartment and a bad hangover to go with the ambiance. It's raining again. Light up my last cigarette and wish I could finally go to sleep, but the past isn't going to be so nice to me tonight. A man gets to thinking, thinking about his kids that he can't watch grow up, thinking about his shame, thinking about that night in Rio when it all went to hell in a handbasket and he had to stowaway on a banana boat just to get back to the States. Yeah, I've seen some hard times. 34 and nowhere to hide. |
