Same here, except I was 10 at the time and we just got a shiny (shiny as plastic could get) new 5200. Ordering a stick of RAM for it from a Mac-Mall magizine, we got a free copy of Marathon 2. Sure, I played on Kindergarten and only so much of what was going on I understood, but it still trounced Doom in pretty much every way. I can look up and down! My guns are dual wield/have two functions! And I can dive under water! Oh yes, and...that.....whole....story..............thing. I did manage to get a Doom-playing friend to switch over and get Marathon 2 for his PC, but he still pretty much played it like Doom: Kill everything that moves, find the exit, rapid click through any terminals beacuse they "weren't the main part of the game". Oh well :) |
