: The level seems to play fine on my G4 here at work. Though I still have the
: same kind of behavior when trying to vid the level. In fact, I removed
: Canyon from the Map and made it a one-level scenario....just to see what
: happens when it stands by itself. I get exactly the same behavior. Also,
: RAM does not seem to be a problem. No matter how much RAM I give the
: application, the game still eventually crashes when I try to vid.
John, was that booted up in OS 9 or X? I played it on my wife's 1.25 GHz iMac in Classic under OS X and it was much more playable, although at times, barely. It is playable even on my 500 MHz G4 PB if played booted under OS 9. By next week, however, I should have a new 17" G4 PB and booting up in OS 9 will not be an option. Let's hope the 1.5 GHz speed and the of 128 MB VRAM will make up for this.
BTW, I'm sorry I suggested scrapping the level. I'm sure it's a blast to play if you can get it to work properly.
: One other thing I thought of about this level is the location of the exit
: pad. Reading from the terminals, it wasn't clear to me where to go to exit
: the level. I realize that the exit pad it lit up and stands out from the
: rest of the map, but the first time I played, I found myself wandering
: around looking for a way to exit.
I agree with John on this one. True, the teleport pad is labeled in map view - but if you try to look for it while standing in the center of the level as you are likely to do, at that scale the lable disappears.
