I agree, in fact, this would be entirely undetectable. It would appear to all observers that the Marine continually commits himself to PB's but never has to use them because in timelines where he fails, no observer would survive to know otherwise. The fact that we can end the trilogy alive and do means that no observer in the victorious timeline would see us re-emerge from a pattern buffer, and would, by extension, be aloof to the use of our Jjaro implants to "cheat" death.
