Doom kicks ass. Yeah, I agree that Marathon was a whole lot better. Every other game that I play is pretty much a secondary game, the secondary games I love equally, but Marathon stands up above all of them. I agree, Marathon isn't just a game. Marathon has made me forget more and more that I'm really playing a computer game.

I still love Marathon, and no game, in my opinion, has surpassed it, and I think it'll be a long-ass time before it ever does, and even if that does happen, Marathon will always be my favorite. The point of it was not just to represent aggressive action, but also to give a powerful plot, represent great emotion, distribute a cool environment, and give a good, challenging gameplay. Those who say that Marathon sucks don't seem to understand that.

That's probably what allowed Marathon to somehow get killed by Doom in that comparison. The misunderstanding that it was just meant to be another aggressive action game or something.

Then again, I didn't understand how they could compare Mario 3 to Doom. They were two completely different genres and had very little in common.

I don't really think that any of those games were better than the other (well, really I think that Marathon kicks the ass of every other game out there). I also don't think that people should choose the game that won the match simply because its more popular. I mean, I won't try to stop them or anything, but i'll bet that UT would beat a game like Marathon in a comparison at that site anyday, and you'll see why when you notice these people all over the place who are real UT zealots. Personally, I think that UT, really, gives the fun of playing that crappy game Asteroids some real competition. UT sucks the big fat one. Pardon the expression or if what I may have said has infuriated any of you people who love UT, but it's just me.
