: My theory is that Dan's Marine wears my Marine's helmet, and my Marine wears
: Dan's Marine's mask, thereby rendering each vacuum-proof. Only not at the
: same time.
: It is kinda odd, because Dan included the big ring collar, and it looks like
: the collar has an inner seal that would keep suit pressure, but the helmet
: has no visor or apparent way to seal to the suit. With the mask he'd be
: proofed against lack of oxygen, but the lack of air pressure and the
: near-absolute-zero temps of space would be hard on the eyes indeed.
Regardless, it is a great "Terry and the Pirates" meets "Buck Rogers" fusion look. I didn't really have a problem with the character not having a helmet, I saw the sealing ring for it and I figured the artist wanted to concentrate on the the facial detail of the person inside rather than an eyeball barely seen through the glare of a helmet visor. Myself, I couldn't resist painting the visual image of the protruding vacuum eyeballs. That is MY version of artistic license.
