In Response To: OK, anyone else using 12/25 carbon AO w/10.3.3? *NM* (Steve Levinson) ... I downloaded the 12/25 stable build as well as the most recent nightly build, and I can confirm the same behavior on both builds under 10.3.3 In fact, my experience is even worse: on my G5, with a clean install of AO 12/25 and clean copies of the Map, Sounds, etc. from Infinity, the game goes to a black screen at launch and both processors max out (amazing how loud those fans can get), necessitating a hard reboot. On rebooting, the AO application quits immediately after double-clicking. I installed the latest nightly build, got the Black Screen o' Doom, rebooted, and now that build fails to launch. This machine was pretty clean, no likelihood of corrup/conflicting prefs. Sounds like 10.3.3 changed the OpenGL or video card drivers in a way that the current AO builds do not like. Incidentally, my old M1A1 1.2 build still runs fine. Go figure. JF |
