It would be like M2 even if it is a COPY of a human AI. Remember that in M2, the Pfhor made a large number low-grade clones of Tycho. These clones helped the Pfhor survive for another fifty years before being wiped out by a Human/S'pht fleet.

Sadly, it never says whether or not the Marathon man got to see the final battle.
