: The first terminal is at the start, inside your crashed shuttle. The second
: terminal is in a hallway in the ruins that's cut across by a rocky gap
: extending out of the Devlin next. The third terminal is inside the Mystic
: ship. The fourth, as listed in Hex, is the secret terminal.
I was about to publish my entry for this level when I rediscovered the existence of that fourth secret terminal. I just spent the last couple of hours searching for a way to access it (don't tell the other faculty about that) and finally figured it out. Yes, there is a way to access that secret terminal and it does indeed provide an alternate exit. This has to be one of the most obscure secrets I've encountered, and I would have never found it without a combination of Forge and Pfhorge, which displays transporter polygons much more clearly than does Forge. Pealing back the top polys over the alien ship will reveal the secret transport poly. I won't tell you exactly where it is - I'll let you find it for yourself - but it is on the top of the ship and it leads to an otherwise inaccessible area of the ship which is directly below the surface and above the accessible areas. Inside you will find the secret terminal and a door to a large circular room directly over the mystics. Stepping into the center of the circular room transports you back outside the ship, providing an alternate escape from the terminal. If you access the terminal before completing the mission, you'll be sent back to your shuttle and have to make your way back to the ship. Once the mission is complete, the secret terminal will take you directly to Magrathea, bypassing Cryo Me to Sleep. The significance of this is that Cryo is a rebellion level. I can see a lot of eyes popping wide open with this. Most players should finish Gumby with a fair bit of leftover ammo, even though Gumby is itself a rebellion level. This secret should therefore make it a lot easier to get through the rest of the game since there are no further rebellion levels after Cryo. Unfortunately, I'm already all the way up to Septic Exodus in my preparations for this series, and I'm not about to go back and replay just for the extra ammo - I know I can finish without it - but I'll probably be coveting it once I get to Schmackle, my old arch nemesis level.
