I really really hate Enforcers. I mean really really. I eat, sleep and crap hating them. When I kill one I run up to it's cooling gut-splat and shoot it while yelling, "BITCH!!", no kidding. I think the thing that got me started on that was this room in Marathon 2(?) where you had to run across the little platforms floating in the alien goo. It's too hard to remember the name, I think you were on your way in the next level to turn Durandal off. There were TONS of S'pht in there but what really ticked me off was the nearly impossible to kill physics-beefed-up Enforcers that took multiple SPNKR hits to kill at the very start of the map. They must have flamed me a dozen times before I finally got past them. I hate it when they make me scream like a flamed BOB. It just amps up my annoyance with them.
The trick to getting an Enforcer is to shoot him once with anything. He will come looking for you. Stand around a corner with something needlessly big bore and brutal and when he steps around the corner empty the magazine in it's evil freakin face. Once it hits the ground, chop it's head off cause they are like post apocalyptic vampires.
In Marathon 1 it was the Wasps. They were disgusting, they were everywhere and they were hard to hit. Sometimes Bungie put a never ending supply of them in a map! One time I called up Bungie and complained to them about the Wasps, that it was just too disgusting the way they shot slop out their asses. That's how annoyed I was with the Wasps.
