In Response To: The M1A1 3rd Party Levels Poll (REB) Extra Celestial was one of my favorite 3rd party maps for Marathon. It doesn't have a plot, it's very linear and when you're through, it drops you back to the beginning. Seems like the formula for a disaster, yet it isn't. The flow is amazing and the design is truly 3D. The only level in the Marathon Trilogy I can remember right now, Bungie or 3rd party, that gave me the same impression of being in an actual building, with one floor in top of the other, is The Hard Stuff Rules... Unlike the original author, I'm not going to ask you for a peripheral or a brand new computer, but hey, don't let that stop you from sending me a gift ;-) http://bighouse.bungie.org/m1/extra.celestial.m1a1.hqx While I still don't like the idea of dedicating more time to a finished scenario - not even one more second, not even one more thought - I want to finish what I've started and make more 3rd party maps available for M1A1 before moving on. I've put my eyes on a scenario that consists of two parts. The first part contains eleven levels, the second one contains seven. The only special things about this forgotten scenario is that it contains the original version of six maps used on Trojan. In between the release of the first and second part, I'm also planing to convert the 3rd party map that I hated the most, because it was so %$+^# to figure out! After that, we'll see. |
