Yrro was/is a Jjaro, which according to Eternal and the Halo Alpha, were the Marathon equivalent to the past-future humans in Halo plus the forerunners so I don't think Yrro put the eggs in his own orifice. That would be rather painful when they hatched.
Perhaps he converted at the very least two unknown F'lickta species we never see into the cyborgs we know as the S'pht with their own custom exoskeletons, and possibly programmed the knowledge and necessary tools into them to allow them to augment their own young to the same cybernetic level in pupae after the organic part is birthed.
This idea makes me think of an old Doctor Who episode where we first see the Daleks without their tanks. (No, it is not a Christopher Eccleston one; I think it's a Tom Baker one)
It shows them being engineered in labs by their creator; the guy in the Dalek shell-shaped wheelchair. (I forgot his name)
