You can use a TrueType font by setting some MML, if you don't care about films or net play. The terminal renderer will still be limited to 640x320, because nobody has written a scalable one.

That's what I see, too. Are you saying you would prefer to see the HUD elements overlap the terminal text? We chose not to do that for our release, but the plugin is a Lua so you can modify it or get someone to.

https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/marathon/index.php?title=FileLocations has the location of the new prefs. The Prefs left in your game-folder is a remnant of not being able to migrate everything fully--you have to deal with it manually :(

We made the Marathon default color red because Hamish said it should be red. The defaults for Marathon 2 and Infinity were slate.
