In Response To: Re: A question about Roots and Radicals (SPOILER) (Forrest of B.org)

: I was thinking of it more like that scene with the Oracle from Matrix
: Reloaded: the Oracle tells Neo to sit. Neo gets all 'you can't predict me!
: I'll sit if I want to, or not if I don't!' . . . "I felt like
: sitting." To which the Oracle replies "I know."

Heh, I should see that part again...

: And yeah, I guess storytelling-wise having one character predict another
: character's choices doesn't really work when any number of different
: people could be sitting in the place of the second person (the player) and
: *not* be thinking the way that the first person (Durandal) predicts.

I also understand that it's a limit of the amount of work/time you have and possibly the engine - does Aleph One allow for a different ending to a mission depending on whether or not you have an uplink chip?

I dunno, I think it's a valid assumption. I suppose I'm thinking about this in the wrong way - after romping through Squadron (I'm going to finish my Volunteers section, I promise!) and going through RX's Tycho plank, I thought it was so cool to actually explore all possibilities to a scenario, at least within the reasonable confines of the storyline. I'd love to actually do a storyline where you actually do side with Hathor, and she actually does betray you in the end, only to be surprised along with Durandal when they find out - at the last minute - that you actually could figure out how to use your cybernetic junction after all, and in ways they never thought possible (since that's pretty much what we did in Infinity).

Maybe for Eternal 2.0? ;) And while we're at it, maybe you could put in the Hunter's plasma cannon as a weapon, along with a Juggernaut missile launcher, and...

:)
