In Response To: Best way to convert PICTs in Shape File to AO PNGs *LINK* (Blayne)

: Any suggestions would be welcomed. Curious: Once every frame is ported into a
: MML-linked, .png format... what purpose does the "Shapes" file
: actually serve? Can it be excluded from the A0_only release?

It can't be excluded.

There might not be a good reason, but does MML supply the hotpsot/timing/sound/sequence information for the sprites? That all resides in the Shapes file, iirc.

You might be able to replace each sprite with tiny transparent image or a transparent image of the same size or something. If the Shapes get stored with any sort of compression whatsoever, then it'll make it smaller at least.
