Best way to convert PICTs in Shape File to AO PNGs *LINK*
Posted By: BlayneDate: 3/19/07 11:47 a.m.

Hey everyone,

I need to know the easiest/most streamlined process possible for converting:

1 .PICT (exported from a Marathon Shapes file) ->

-> to 1 .PNG (black Background) + 1 .PNG Alpha Map (Black/White)

... for use in Aleph One.

I've set up some macros in Photoshop so I simply open 100+ frames, and pound a single key for saving... but that was for things like textures. Images like monster sprites are a little more complex.

Any suggestions would be welcomed. Curious: Once every frame is ported into a MML-linked, .png format... what purpose does the "Shapes" file actually serve? Can it be excluded from the A0_only release?

Thanks,
