Oxygen and running

First, a question.

I decided to poke around the A1 Source code tonight and noticed this:

"Wednesday, November 30, 1994 6:56:20 PM (Jason)

oxygen is used up faster by running and by firing."

Is this still true? Was it ever true? I find it interesting that this was added to the game. Is running more or less oxygen efficient after taking the distance traveled into account.

Second, another question.

When briefly searching to see if the above was discussed elsewhere, I found this:

: I found this really odd behaviour in the first vacuum level of the Gemeni
: scenario, and wonder if it's a bug in AO or Marathon or a feature of some
: kind: I was running out of air when I found an invulnerability powerup.
: The powerup lasted longer than the air. But instead of croaking when the
: air ran out, I got this loud absorbtion burp and then I suddenly didn't
: need air any more. I could keep on playing with zero air in a vacuum level
: - even after the invulnerability wore off.

: Has anybody else experienced this?

Was this ever fixed?
